A 33-year-old man is charged with homicide and aggravated assault after police say he caused a fatal crash on East King Street in Lancaster Township on Saturday.

Homicide-by-vehicle charges have been filed against a Lancaster man following a three-vehicle crash Saturday. According to reports, Carlos R. Garcia, 33, has been charged with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death while not properly licensed, endangering the welfare of children, reckless driving and driving while under suspension – DUI related. Reports indicate the crash occurred around 1:20 p.m. Saturday on the 1300 block of E. King St., Lancaster, when Garcia struck the rear of another vehicle. He then struck a second vehicle, driven by a 47-year-old Lancaster Township woman, whose passenger, her 24-year-old daughter, later identified as Kaitlyn Berry died at Lancaster General Hospital, reports indicate. The 47-year-old woman was admitted in serious condition, reports indicate. Garcia and his 7-year-old passenger were treated and released for minor injuries, and the driver of the first vehicle was not injured, reports indicate.
