Burnell was driving a northbound car on Delmar Highway in which she was the only occupant, when she began to veer into the oncoming lane. This caused her to overcorrect and depart the roadway to the right, where her car rolled over and she was ejected, as she was not wearing a seat belt. Burnell was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and the coroner confirmed that she was pregnant. It is currently uncertain whether or not excessive speed played a role in the accident; check back for updates.

Veronica Hayes was headed south on Blume Road at about 9:40 p.m. when her vehicle ran off the left side of the road, causing her to overcorrect and then run off the right side of the road. Her 1995 Pontiac Grand Am struck an embankment and overturned, ejecting the teenager, who was apparently not wearing a seat belt. Speed appears to have been a factor. Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene.
