Sunday, May 10, 2015A man was allegedly drunk when he crashed his vehicle Sunday night and killed his passenger around 6:45 p.m. on Maquam Shore Road. Douglas Colby, 54, lost control after passing another vehicle, and crashed into some trees. His passenger, 56-year old Linda Vincellette, of Swanton, was killed. She was not wearing a seat belt. Colby is charged with DUI death resulting. He was booked into the Northwest Correctional Facility on $7,500 bail.

Wednesday, October 8, 201483-year-old Pauline M Lussier of St. Albans died after her car collided with a tractor-trailer around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday morning on U.S. Route 2 in Alburg. Lussier was not wearing a seat-belt at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at Northwestern Medical Center. She was driving a 2000 Hyundai Elantra near the intersection of Haylde Road when she pulled out of a driveway onto Route 2 and was hit by a tractor-trailer. The crash occured at the end of a heavy downpour. The driver of the truck, 46-year-old Marvin J. Lapier of Mooers, New York, was not hurt.
