At about 10:44 a.m., an SUV was attempting to make a left turn from Byron Highway when it was hit on the driver's side by a pickup truck that was behind it. Both vehicles ended up overturning in the collision. So far, an 89-year-old woman and 40-year-old man have both been confirmed dead. An unknown amount of people were taken to hospitals by helicopter and ambulance, but both children and adults were injured. Check back for udpates on this developing story.

Chad Andrews, 10, in critical condition, Daniel Kendrick, 43, and Tameashia Robinson, 31, seriously injured after crash between motorcycle and small dirt bike at 20th Street East and 2nd Avenue East in Manatee County, FL

10-year-old Chad Andrews was driving a miniature dirt bike west on 20th Street East, but failed to stop at the stop sign at 2nd Avenue East and drove right into the side of a southbound Honda motorcycle driven by Daniel Kendrick, 43. Andrews was thrown from his bike and critically injured; he remains in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center. Kendrick and his passenger Tameashia Robinson, 31, both sustained serious injuries and were taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital. None of the people involved were wearing helmets at the time.
