New Orleans driver faces charges after Kenner woman dies in Port Allen I-10 crash

A toxicology sample will be taken from both drivers and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for further analysis. Louisiana State Police have identified the woman who died as a result of a two-vehicle crash in Port Allen Friday (July 3) morning as 66-year-old Yvonne Gooch of Kenner. According to state police, Zapata was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 in a 2007 Toyota Sequoia shortly before 8 a.m. Gooch was pronounced dead at the scene by the West Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office. "Although Gooch was properly restrained, she received fatal injuries as a result of the crash," Louisiana State Police Trooper Bryan Lee said in a statement.
