A construction worker was killed in a 24-story fall down an elevator shaft in midtown Manhattan Tuesday afternoon. The worker was at a building on West 46th Street and Eighth Avenue when he fell. The worker was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The accident is under investigation.

A long-time Natick town employee was killed and a second town employee was injured Tuesday night while both were participating in the emergency repair of a water line, an incident that was witnessed by four co-workers and a Natick police officer on a paid detail, officials said.

A 55-year-old construction worker was killed Monday morning at a job in Windsor Township, York County. Police identified the victim as Benedict Todt, of Gardeners, Adams County. Todt was working at the Red Lion Water Authority pumping facility at 500 Gebhart Rd. when the accident happened around 11 a.m.
