A tan Ford Taurus allegedly sideswiped another vehicle near the Seward Highway before going on to strike two construction work vehicles. The Taurus continued until it stopped and caught fire, and the driver fled on foot. Police were able to find the driver five minutes later hiding in a trash can not far from the scene. He was charged with felony driving under the influence, felony refusal, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident, and two counts of third-degree assault.

Police responded to a crash on Church Road at about 12:15am, where they found a pickup truck that had caught fire and noticed that there was a motorcycle stuck underneath the vehicle. Later, police received another report of a crash at M-82 U.S. 131, where they discovered an injured 58-year-old man who has not been identified. The man appeared as though he had been driving a motorcycle, though it was nowhere near him. Eventually authorities determined that the driver of the pickup truck must have collided with motorcyclist at M-82 and U.S.
