Spokane, WAAt about 1:15pm, a 79-year-old woman was parking her car on her driveway, but either forgot to set the brake or it malfunctioned, and the car began to roll as she exited it. A nearby 17-year-old boy attempted to help, but both him and the woman were hit by the moving car and were pushed over an embankment on the other side of the road. The boy managed to free himself and sustained only minor injuries, but the woman was trapped beneath the door of the car and required extrication. When she was finally freed she was sent to the hospital with serious injuries and possibly hypothermia.

Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLA 69-year-old Manatee County woman died Friday afternoon from injuries sustained in a parking lot accident.
Susan Roberts Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene just after 4:30 p.m.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Murphy has just finished shopping at BJ’s Wholesale Club and was loading items into the front passenger side of her 2001 Chrysler Town and Country van when the vehicle started moving in reverse for unknown reasons.
Murphy fell under the vehicle and was struck on the head and body by the front right tire.
