An 18-year-old man was struck and killed on the 5 Freeway in Sun Valley Saturday morning. The incident occurred just north of Tuxford Street around 4:20 a.m. Police say the teenager, later identified as Blake Cook, was a passenger in a Honda Accord that crashed with a big rig. As he and two others got out of the car and tried to get to safety, the victim was struck by another vehicle. That car then hit a second vehicle and sped off. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He has only been identified by police as a resident of the Saugus neighborhood in Santa Clarita.

Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a man on a bicycle in downtown Los Angeles Sunday. The incident occurred on Alameda Street near the westbound 10 Freeway off-ramp around 2 a.m. CHP responded to a pedestrian down call and found a body in the No. 2 lane of the off-ramp with no vehicle in sight. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as a man in his early 30's. No description of the fleeing vehicle was released. The fatal crash closed Alameda Avenue and the off-ramp for a few hours, but both have since reopened.

Detectives have released a photo of a person of interest in the hit-and-run crash in Watts that left a 19-year-old man dead. Authorities said a black 2013 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling at approximately 80-100 mph on a residential street when the vehicle hit a dip in the road, went airborne and struck Jerry Arredondo at 105th Street and Wadsworth Avenue at about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday. The teen was thrown straight into a nearby tree, which split in two. Arredondo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are looking for a female driver who crashed into a jogger near the entrance of Loyola Marymount University on Thursday. The crash happened around 4:15 a.m. at Lincoln Boulevard and LMU Drive. Police say the driver of a light-colored older-model Buick struck a light pole before hitting the jogger, a man in his 60s who is believed to be an area resident. According to police, the jogger rolled on the hood of the car and smashed into the windshield. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Pregerson was found in bushes on the side of the road on the 600 block of Chautauqua Boulevard around 3:20 a.m. Police say the victim was walking home when he was hit by a car and thrown into the bushes. The driver fled the scene. Pregerson was transported to a hospital in critical condition and he later died of his injuries. Friends say the victim was a budding filmmaker and recent UCLA graduate.
