Wausau-Rhinelander, WIRonald Jay Ebert, 55, of St. Paul was driving a semi-truck southbound on Highway E at about noon when he came to the intersection with Highway 48 in McKinley Township. Ebert said that he braked for the intersection, but a mechanical problem caused the brakes to fail, and he hit a 2004 Chevrolet pickup that was westbound on Highway 48. Allan Seierstad of Cumberland, Wisconsin, was driving, and Ricky Gauthier of Radisson, Wisconsin, was his passenger.
