New York, NYA 20-year-old woman had the right-of-way and was crossing West 57th Street at its intersection with Eighth Avenue when she was hit by a taxi driven by Babul Miah, 29. It occured at about 5:30 p.m., when Miah was attempting to turn right from Eighth unto 57th and failed to yield to the woman in the crosswalk. He ran over the pedestrian before crashing into some phone booths. The victim, who has yet to be identified, sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident. Miah will likely be charged for failing to yield.

Hartford & New Haven, CTAn unidentified female driver was driving on East Newberry Road, and turned from it onto Old Windsor Road. She did not properly yield to cross traffic, and was struck by an eastbound car on Old Windsor Road before her car rotated and crashed into a nearby building. The woman was declared dead at the scene, but the man driving the other vehicle was uninjured. We will update this accident with more details as they become available.
