Salt Lake City, UTIt was around 9:00pm when 20-year-old Rylee M. Larkin was driving on the interchange from westbound SR-201 to I-80, which was covered in ice and snow. Larkin lost control on the slick road and crashed into a concrete barrier, and was then rear-ended by an SUV. The accident left Larkin dead at the scene, while the SUV driver was unharmed, and their passenger sustained minor injuries. The poor road conditions are considered the main cause for this accident.

Wednesday, February 11, 2015At 1:30 PM Wednesday a 31-year-old man was driving his SUV and struck an Amish buggy driven by a 42-year-old man with an 18-year-old passenger on Cass City Road near Cass City, Michigan. The SUV's driver was attempting to pass the buggy and lost control on the icy road, rear-ending the buggy. The accident caused extensive damage to the buggy, however its occupants did not report any injuries. The horse sustained minor cuts, but is believed to be fine, according to police investigators. The driver of the SUV was uninjured as well.

Eugene, ORAn Oregon State Police trooper was injured Friday night when his patrol car was rear-ended as he was wrapping up a traffic stop on Oregon 34 east of Corvallis.
Just after 8 p.m., Trooper Don Rummer was finishing a traffic stop and got back into his patrol car when he saw a car coming from behind lose control on the snow- and ice-covered roadway. The car crashed into the back of the stopped patrol car.
