John Quillen was driving his car northbound on Interstate 25 when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crossed the median. Nicholas Summer was driving a semi-truck southbound and collided with the car. Quillen was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and suffered life threatening injuries. His was transported by ambulance to a local medical center. Summer was wearing a seat belt and treated for minor injuries. Troopers believe high speed and inadequate tires are factors in this crash.
18-year-old driver Brook Hill hit and killed a 38-year-old jogger at the Eastonville Rd. and Tompkins Rd. intersection in Falcon, Colorado Saturday. The jogger was allegedly running the same direction as traffic, and made an immediate left turn as the driver came up behind him. The collision killed him at the scene. Speed, drugs and alcohol have been ruled out.
Around 5:00 a.m. a Subaru Legacy on Dublin Boulevard ran a red light and struck a yellow cab on Powers Boulevard. The 23-year-old male driving the Subaru was hospitalized with serious injuries. The 37-year-old male driving the yellow cab was taken to the hospital as a precaution. None of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening. Speed and foggy weather conditions could be a factor in the accident.
The accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Platte Avenue and Circle Drive. A red sedan was making a u-turn and was struck by a silver sedan. The four people in the silver vehicle were hospitalized for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. As a precaution the two people in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital. Private and city property were damaged by the vehicles. Excessive speed, alcohol, and illegal narcotics may have all contributed to the accident.
