A man was struck and killed in Gloucester County early Sunday morning. The fatal accident occurred around 1:20 a.m. on the 200 block of Hurffville Crosskeys Road near Sunhaven Drive in Washington Township. Police say the man, identified as Carl Dicks, was walking along the road when he was struck by a minivan. The victim was taken by ambulance to Kennedy University Hospital-Washington Township where he was pronounced dead. No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities say the driver of a school van was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in New Jersey early Friday morning. The crash happened at about 7:30 a.m. at Route 40 and Newkirk Station Road in Upper Pittsgrove, Salem County. According to New Jersey State Police, a school van, a tractor-trailer and several other vehicles collided. Authorities say the female driver of the school van was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say there was one child on the van at the time of the accident, but that student was not injured. The student was taken to a local hospital for observation.

An accident in New Jersey is causing major rush hour delays at the Lincoln Tunnel heading out of New York City.

The accident occurred Thursday afternoon on the southbound eastern spur of the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 15X in Secaucus.

The accident has been cleared, but there are heavy residual delays of at least one hour at the tunnel.

Traffic backed up along the Turnpike all the way along Route 495, and resulted in gridlock at the approaches to the tunnel.

The West Side Highway south was also brought to a standstill from 96th Street down to 42nd Street.

A woman was killed in an apparent hit and run accident in Jersey City Thursday evening. At around 6:45 p.m., a Hudson County Sheriff's Prisoner Transport Bus was on its way back to headquarters after dropping prisoners off at the Correctional Facility. The Sheriff's Officers saw the body of a woman lying on the side of Routes 1 and 9 North near Duncan Avenue, the victim of an apparent hit and run. The Crash Reconstruction Unit is at the scene investigating. A bicycle was found near the woman's body so she may have been riding a bicycle when she was struck.

A Brooklyn pilot crashed a small plane while trying to land at a New Jersey airport Monday, police say. The single-engine Cesna Model 172 airplane touched down at the Essex County Airport in Fairfield just before 7 p.m., then suddenly veered off the runway to the left, striking a snow bank and then overturning, police said. The plane was piloted by Chaim Masri, 46, of Brooklyn, according to authorities. Masri declined medical attention for a minor injury to the leg. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.

Eight children were hurt after police say a teen driver ran a stop sign in Egg Harbor Township. A 17-year-old boy was driving a 2010 Acura TSX west on Zion Road shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Monday. At the same time, a 17-year-old girl was driving a Chevy Trailblazer south on Larch Avenue. As she turned left onto Zion Road, the girl allegedly failed to yield at the stop sign and collided with the Acura. Police say eight children were hurt in the crash. All of the victims were taken to local hospitals and are being treated for moderate injuries.

Harvard University says a student has died and others have been injured in a traffic accident in New Jersey as their van was returning from a weekend competition in Virginia.

Interim undergraduate Dean Donald Pfister said in an email to students on Monday that junior Angela Mathew was killed and other students were hurt, one seriously. They were members of the Harvard Mock Trial Association.

The association’s website says Mathew, from Albuquerque, N.M., was a director for its high school seminars.

Police say a 19-year-old died in a New Jersey car accident when the car he was a passenger in ran a stop sign, jumped a curb and hit a tree.

Francis Duffy was in the passenger seat of a car being driven by Conner Hanfin in Toms River when the accident happened at around 1:36 p.m. Friday.

Hanfin, who is in critical condition, ran the stop sign and crashed into the tree on Yellowbank Road near Vaughn Avenue.

Officials say they don't know if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

Police in New Jersey are looking into a bus accident that left a woman dead.

The 65-year-old woman was run over by the rear wheels of a commuter bus in New Milford early Thursday.

Authorities say she had just stepped off a sidewalk along Center Street and Boulevard when she fell under the back wheels of a Coach bus around 6:45 a.m.

The woman was crossing the street to get to her home.

She was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

No criminality is suspected, but the investigation is ongoing.

A crash involving several cars and a tractor trailer shut down the southbound lanes of I-295 in Burlington County, N.J. for a brief time on Thursday.

The truck and three cars collided just after 2 p.m. on Thursday near exit 52 in Columbus, N.J.

The collision sent antifreeze and oil spraying all over the roadway. Crews spread sand to clear up the mess.

Cars backed up for at least at least two miles as emergency crews worked at the scene.
