39-year-old Kara Thompson of Rogers was the passenger in an eastbound car on Highway 12 when the car crossed over the center line and crashed head-on into another car Sunday morning. Thompson was reportedly trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated before being airlifted to the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, where she died. Two other people were transported by ambulance in unknown condition.

At around 8:36 p.m. Monday just outside East Helena, a semi-truck was eastbound on Highway 12 when it collided head-on with the pick up truck that was traveling west. The collision occurred in the westbound lane of the highway. The pickup driver, a 45-year-old Gregory McFerrin, was not wearing a seat belt and was killed. The 33-year-old driver of the semi-trailer, Asad Khan, was brought to St. Peter's Hospital with unknown injuries. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

The deadly crash happened at 6:22 p.m. on Highway 12 when a Chevy Malibu traveling westbound on Highway 12 and a 2002 Nissan pick-up traveling eastbound crashed head-on when the Nissan lost control on the icy road and crossed the centerline. Both vehicles wound up in a ditch. 37-year-old Fidencio Ramirez Rojas of Litchfield was ejected from the Nissan and was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. Juan Martinez Garcia, 44, Miguel Hernandez, 26, and Pedro Godoy, 43,  were all in the Nissan and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the 21-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a head-on collision in Wright County last week.

Robert Brau of Willmar died after he was hit by a 17-year-old girl on Highway 12 near Montrose on Thursday morning.

The teen was driving eastbound on the road when it crossed the center line and hit a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle, driven by Brau, traveling in the opposite direction, the state patrol says.

Brau was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the state patrol. He was wearing a helmet.

Four people were injured, one seriously, Saturday morning in a head-on collision on state Highway 12 caused by an allegedly drunk driver, Santa Rosa police said Saturday. The collision occurred just after 10:30 a.m. on Highway 12 at Melita Road, when an eastbound Ford Mustang crossed the center divider and struck a westbound Nissan Sentra head-on, according to police. The Sentra overturned and landed in the westbound lane with people trapped inside.
