A serious crash occurred during a sleet and snowstorm Wednesday, on the I-30 Bridge in Rockwall, Texas. 58-year-old Terry Caveat’s pickup truck was struck by another car. Cavett exited his pickup to check on the condition of the other driver. Another vehicle was out of control and moving toward Cavett, so he jumped onto the edge of the bridge and fell about 20 feet. Neither vehicle stayed at the scene of the crash. Terry Cavett was moved from the ICU at Baylor Hospital in Dallas and is recovering from serious injuries.

A crash left two dead and one survivor after a SUV drove off of a bridge and fell into a creek in Fort Worth, Texas. The SUV was driving on I-30 at Camp Bowie West when the vehicle dove off the icy road, landing into the creek. The deceased victims were discovered by a dive team who attempted their rescue. They have been identified as oral surgeon Robert Weinstein, 71, and Abby Resendiz.  Weinstein was returning from working at dental office in Central Texas when the accident occured. The sole survivor has not yet been identified.

A chain-reaction crash over a North Texas lake involving as many as 15 vehicles is expected to keep Interstate 30 over Lake Ray Hubbard closed well into Friday afternoon. Texas Department of Transportation officials said multiple vehicles were involved in the crash on the I-30 bridge over the lake, prompting the closure of both directions of the highway at Dalrock Road. Police reports indicate 23-year-old Christopher Anthony Sosa was charged with intoxication assault for his involvement in the crash.
