An Orleans County man was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash Wednesday night. Thomas W. Taylor, 53, of Holley, was on the shoulder of Brockport Spencerport Road in Sweden about 11:30 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Taylor was in the area plowing driveways and had a passenger with him. Taylor parked his truck in a driveway and exited the vehicle to locate a customer's address when he was hit. The passenger found Taylor in a ditch.

Todd E. Golden, 49, died in the pedestrian crash that occurred about 2:05 a.m. on University Boulevard South near Bennett Road. Golden was walking in the left northbound lane but was not in a crosswalk. A vehicle hit Golden and stopped, but a second car also collided with him. That second driver initially stopped in the parking lot of a nearby business, and then quickly left the crash site. Authorities described the second vehicle as small and silver, but no other information on the vehicle is available.

Albert Matthew Cox was riding a moped north on N. Third St. when he was struck by Susan Tumidaj, 39, as she was turning on to the street. Cox sustained severe injuries and passed away on January 6th. Tumidaj was taken into custody and charged with DWI, hit and run, driving with a revoked license, and failure to yield.

Berkeley County Sheriff Wayne Dewitt was arrested after a hit and run collision that involved injuries in the early morning of December 28, at the intersection of Red Bank Road and Henry Brown Road in Berkeley County.A Ford truck crashed into the rear of another vehicle at intersection, and then fled the scene. Troopers located the suspect's vehicle at traffic stop and identified Sheriff Wayne Dewitt as the driver. Troopers administered field sobriety test and determined he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and Dewitt was transported to the Chs. Co Detention Center.

Nicole Donnelly was trying to flag down vehicles on Pasadena Avenue when a vehicle struck her and left the scene, leaving her seriously injured. Authorities later recovered the vehicle, described as a 2006 BMW. The accident is still under investigation.

Jose Adan Lainez, 63, was riding his bicycle east on Soquel Avenue near Hagemann Avenue in Santa Cruz at 6:40 a.m. Friday when he was struck from behind by what investigators suspect is a 2007 white Toyota Tundra. The Toyota also sheared a traffic light pole, sending it into a nearby parking lot before driving away. Police say the pickup most likely has damage on its right front and right side, and surveillance footage from area businesses show a white truck speeding away from the scene, but police have not found an image clear enough to show the driver or the pickup's license plate.

At around 11:20pm, a vehicle driven by Schmitt struck Hamilton, leaving her laying in the roadway with a broken back and not remaining to call for help. After Hamilton was found and brought to a hospital for treatment, police also identified Schmitt by matching front-end damage to her car, and she has been arrested

A Palmetto teen died Thursday afternoon when he was dragged by a car. Police say Kyle O’Halloran became involved in some kind of conflict with passengers in the car and grabbed hold of the Lincoln Town Car as the driver, 20-year-old Roberto Betancourt, tried to drive off in the 1800 block of 14th Avenue West around 5 p.m. Witnesses saw O’Halloran hanging out of the window as the car drove north on 14th Avenue West. Betancourt intentionally accelerated and O’Halloran fell out of the car and died at the scene. Betancourt also failed to stop and render aid and failed to report the incident, and w

Kathleen Marie Cook of South Gate was standing outside her stopped Mercury Cougar on the 105 Freeway east of Wilmington Avenue at about 11:45 p.m. when a pickup truck struck her and she was thrown into the traffic lanes. The pickup driver fled and east on the 105 Freeway. California Highway Patrol officials have said that the front of the pickup most likely has moderate to major damage, and anyone with information about the accident is asked to called the California Highway Patrol South Los Angeles station at (310) 516-3355.

A 31-year-old Racine man is charged in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian. Charges allege that Bradley Hayek was driving of a car that hit a man Thursday night in Racine. Hayek then fled the crash site. The victim, 45-year-old Robert Castaneda, died at a nearby hospital. Hayek was arrested just a few blocks from the site. He faces charges, including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and bail jumping charges.
