A vehicle crash that left one truck overturned has shut down the left and center lanes of I-485 inner Monday morning.

The incident was reported at 5:43 a.m. at mile marker 18 near the Oakdale Road exit, according to emergency crews.

Two lanes were open by 7:30 a.m.

The word yet on what caused the accident.

One person was taken by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center with potentially life threatening injuries.

A man was killed in a southwest Charlotte wreck after he was ejected from his car and badly burned.

The wreck happened in the 5700 block of West Boulevard near Yorkmont Road at 2:42 p.m. Monday afternoon, according to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Major Crash Investigation Unit.

Investigators say a man lost control of his car, causing him to run off the road and slide sideways into an SUV. The SUV "t-boned" the car, causing the man to be ejected.

Police are looking for a vehicle after deadly hit-and-run.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say the deadly accident happened at 2400 Alleghany Street just before 11 p.m. Saturday night.

Police say they found an unresponsive male laying in the road and MEDIC pronounced the victim deceased.

Police have identified the victim as Carrington Devol Ware, 50, according to CMPD.

The preliminary investigation revealed Ware was crossing Alleghany Street at Pebblebrook Drive when he was struck by a vehicle, police say.

Police in Charlotte say a 28-year-old man was killed when he slid on a patch of ice in east Charlotte and hit a utility pole. He had been drinking at the time of the crash, police say.

According to police, Thomas Andrew Lyall, 28, hit the icy patch along the 2300 block of Eastway Drive around 3:01 a.m. Friday morning.

A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police report says he lost control of the vehicle and slid sideways off the side of the road. The vehicle hit a snow bank and then hit a utility pole before flipping on its side.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating the cause of an early morning crash that injured two CMPD officers.

Authorities say around midnight Saturday morning, a police cruiser and a white SUV were involved in an accident on Wilkinson Boulevard in west Charlotte. The incident happened in front of a Family Dollar store. The police cruiser hit a pole and knocked down a road sign. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.

Emergency crews are clearing a vehicle crash in south Charlotte the sent one person to the hospital.

The incident was reported at 7:36 a.m. along Pineville-Matthews Road at The Arboretum, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

Firefighters responded and had to physically remove one of the victims from their vehicle.

Medic crews transported the victim to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Residual delays are expected through the morning rush hour.

Emergency officials are responding to an accident in southwest Charlotte involving a car and a tractor trailer. The accident happened on the railroad tracks on the 11500 block of Steele Creek Road just before 6:30 p.m. Firefighters are on the scene, and say at least one person had to be rescued from one of the vehicles. Officials say that Steele Creek Road is shut down, and drivers should avoid the area if possible. There is no word if anyone was injured.

Emergency officials are investigating after one person was injured in a crash involving a Charlotte-Mecklenburg School bus. According to police, the crash happened along Parkway Avenue near Mathis around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. Officers say a CMS school bus was hit by a silver vehicle. One person was transported to Novant Presbyterian with injuries, but is expected to be okay. Two people were treated on scene.

For the second Sunday night in a row, an Amtrak train on the way to Charlotte was delayed because of an accident. On Sunday night a train collided with a car outside Greensboro. Investigators say the driver of the car tried to go between the crossing signs lowered arms. The two people in the car got out before the train hit. Last Sunday, a different train was delayed twice after running over two people, one in Durham, and another in Greensboro.

A woman was killed in a car accident on the interstate Thursday evening, according to Charlotte firefighters.

The accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. on southbound I-77 near the North and South Carolina state line.

State Troopers stated that a woman was driving northbound on I-77 when she collided with a tractor trailer. Her vehicle flipped and came to rest on the southbound side of the interstate.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
