One person is dead and two others were taken to a hospital after a big rig flipped on its side on northbound I-85 in Gwinnett County near Steve Reynolds Boulevard in unincorporated Duluth.

The accident occurred at 7:05 a.m. Thursday, after a tractor trailer that collided with another vehicle flipped on its side.

There is one confirmed fatality, who was later identified as Eric Murray, 39. Two other people, later identified as Bryant Garrott, 62, and Maria Zeelaya Torres, 44, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say a pregnant woman and her unborn child have died after a horrific accident in Duluth on Saturday night. Gwinnett County Police say the accident happened around 9 p.m. Saturday near Pleasant Hill Road and Venture Drive. Katerin Metina, 19, was transported to an area hospital where she and her unborn child later died. Police say several other were injured in the accident, but their injuries were not released. Police say the driver of the car faces charges for Vehicular Homicide 2nd Degree, Feticide by Vehicle, and Failure to Yield while a Turning Left.
