One person killed, two others injured, transported to hospital, after a tractor-trailer collides with another vehicle on northbound I-85 in Duluth.

One person is dead and two others were taken to a hospital after a big rig flipped on its side on northbound I-85 in Gwinnett County near Steve Reynolds Boulevard in unincorporated Duluth.

The accident occurred at 7:05 a.m. Thursday, after a tractor trailer that collided with another vehicle flipped on its side.

There is one confirmed fatality, who was later identified as Eric Murray, 39. Two other people, later identified as Bryant Garrott, 62, and Maria Zeelaya Torres, 44, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Several lanes of northbound I-85 were blocked for hours as emergency personnel investigated and cleared the scene.
