According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 23-year-old Leighton J. Rowe was eastbound on I-90 in a Ford F-150 when the vehicle left the roadway, went through a barbed wire fence, struck a tree, and became fully engulfed in flames. Rowe, of Pasco, was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident, which occurred at 2:49 a.m. Monday, is under investigation.

At about 4:40 p.m., 19-year-old Daniel Espinoza was driving east on I-90, when his left rear-tire blew out and he careened into the median. Espinoza then overcorrected, which caused his car to flip over and land upside-down. He was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Brooklin M. Sims was driving on Interstate 90 on Monday night when she struck a military Humvee, causing it to roll off the highway. The driver of the Humvee, Christopher J. Truss, and passenger Randall L. King, were taken to KVH Hospital in Ellensburg where they were treated and released. Sims was taken to Harborview Medical Center and is in stable condition.

Brenden M. Barker was driving near Snoqualmie Pass on westbound 1-90 when his vehicle left the roadway and rolled, coming to a rest on the left shoulder of the eastboud lanes. Barker was transported to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center and his condition has not yet been released. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

At about 8:20pm a car driven by Jessica A. Smith, 28, with Wenner as a passenger was traveling eastbound on I-90 when Smith lost control of the vehicle and overcorrected, causing her to smash into a jersey barrier. Smith was uninjured in the wreck, and Wenner was injured but has already been treated and released from KVH hospital.
