One individual, who has been identified as a teenager, has died after an accident on Interstate 24 in La Vergne, Tennessee early Sunday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. close to the Waldron Road exit. A vehicle driving east sustained extensive damage when it overturned on the Interstate. The victim has not yet been identified. We will have more details on this developing story as they are made available.

John Greer of Nashville was hauling wood pallets on I-24 north of Nashville Tuesday when he lost control of his semi-trailer truck, crossed the median, and then hit a FedEx truck driven by Michael Donley of Villa Grove, Illinois. The wood pallets struck the FedEx truck's fuel tanks, causing a blaze that burned for hours on the interstate, and westbound lanes were closed at around 5 a.m. Tuesday, not reopening until about 10 p.m.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the two victims in a deadly wrong-way crash along I-24 eastbound in Coffee County on Saturday evening. Investigators said Patrick Rhodes, 35, of Tullahoma, TN, was driving westbound along I-24 eastbound when he hit a pick-up truck head-on. Rhodes was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pick-up truck, James L. Golden, 63, of Hixson, TN, was injured. His wife, Phyllis F. Golden, 63, also died at the scene.

A motorcyclist was killed when officials say he crashed his bike into a minivan on eastbound Interstate 24 Monday night.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, witnesses say 27-year-old Robert Sullivan was driving behind a Dodge Caravan at a high rate of speed before he crashed into the minivan near mile marker 79 at 8:45 p.m.

The motorcycle caught on fire, and Sullivan was killed in the crash.

The driver of the minivan, 42-year-old Berma Ussery, is said to have been injured. Her three passengers, all children, were not injured in the crash.

A tire blowout caused a violent crash near the Almaville Road exit on I-24 in Smyrna early Sunday morning. State troopers say the driver lost control of the vehicle when it happened and veered into a guardrail. Two adults and two children were taken to Vanderbilt. The victims' injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Troopers say a man was hit and killed when he got out of his car to ask for help after getting lost on eastbound Interstate 24 in Clarksville.

Tyler Carl Wilsdorf, 23, of Dadeville, AL, tried to make a U-turn near mile marker 4 when he got stuck in the median around 11:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the THP report.

Troopers say they don't think Wilsdorf knew he was walking out onto the interstate when he tried to flag down help and was hit by a car that was heading east.

The driver of the vehicle is not facing criminal charges.

Kentucky police are investigating a deadly crash involving an armored truck Wednesday on Interstate 24 near the Kentucky-Tennessee state line.

The crash was reported about 3 p.m. in the median at mile marker 92 outside Oak Grove, KY.

Officials said an armored car transporting bank documents overturned, blocking a lane in each direction.

Both westbound lanes have since reopened, and one eastbound lane remains closed.

UPDATE: The deceased driver of the truck has been identified as Andrew Arnold .

Interstate 24 on Saturday night became a chicken roast.

A truck carrying 48,000 lbs of chicken tenders crashed and caught on fire, according to a Tennessee Department of Transportation spokeswoman.

The crash, which occurred about 8:30 p.m. Saturday near mile marker 76 in Rutherford County, blocked the westbound lanes. By 1:30 p.m. today, the lanes were clear, Lambert reported.

Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department responded Saturday night to find the trailer fully engulfed in flames.
