Around 6:45 a.m., Beard's Jeep was in the fast lane of the Watterson at Newburg Road when another Jeep that had turned around because of the backup from the first wreck hit his vehicle head on. Curtsinger said Beard was not wearing a seatbelt.

Louisville, KY44-year-old Jennifer Reed, who has now been charged with DUI and assualt among others, was driving the wrong way in the northbound lanes of I-265 when she collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Vijay Patel. Her vehicle then continued to strike another car, driven by John Abbott. Patel sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported the hospital via helicopter, while Reed sustained more minor injuries to her head and face, and Abbot was uninjured.

Louisville, KYOne driver is dead and another driver is in critical condition after a head-on collision in Pleasure Ridge Park early Saturday morning.
According to police, just after 2:30 a.m., a 31-year-old man driving a SUV on the wrong side of the Greenbelt Highway hit another SUV driven by a 17-year-old woman, later identified as Elissa Greenwell, heading south near the intersection with Greenwood Road.
A spokeswoman for the Louisville Metro Police Department, said both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles by Louisville Metro EMS and the Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Department.
