According to authorities, the crash happened on I-240 East between Lamar Ave and Getwell Rd.  One of the cars had a flat tire and was pulling into the break-down lane when a second car quickly approached from behind and hit the back of the first car. The first car spun into a metal guard rail, and the driver of the first car was ejected from the vehicle. The report states that the second car then continued down the road when it struck a third car.  The third car then veered off the road into a ditch.  The second car flipped several times before coming to rest upside-down.
