Juan Linares, 31, was driving east on I-90 in a car with Chavez, a 10-month-old boy, and an 11-year-old girl as passengers when he somehow lost control, departed the highway and struck the median before re-entering the road. Upon re-entry, Linares' car collided with a semi-truck driven by Russell Lanman, 58. According to authorities, 15-year-old Summer Ungerank of Pocahontas was killed when the 2008 Chevrolet Aveo she was riding in ran off of Bellview Road at a high speed, struck a tree, and overturned. The accident happened at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Randolph County. Two other teen girls in the vehicle, ages 16 and 14, recieved unknown injuries in the accident. Johnny Harold King was driving on Alabama 109 when his vehicle left the roadway, hit a fence, and overturned. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation.
An 18-year-old was driving on McIlwain Road near Heath Springs around 11 p.m. Sunday, when he ran off the right side of the road, over corrected, and struck a tree. Randy Joseph Fallaw, of Ladson, was northbound in a 2000 Ford pickup on I-85 in Anderson County Sunday night around 8 p.m. when he attempted to avoid another accident, lost control of his vehicle, ran off the right side of the roadway, and struck a tree, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Fallaw was wearing a seat belt and had to be extracted from his pickup, and was pronounced dead at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
