61-year-old William Gainey was driving a pickup truck on Cypress Gardens Boulevard at about 10:30 p.m. when he failed to slow down for the stop light at the intersection with Lake Ruby Drive and rear-ended a car. Both vehicles were propelled about 150 feet from the collision site, and Gainey's truck flipped onto its roof. The two people in the car that was rear-ended were identified as a father and his son, Christopher and Jayden Ivey, ages 39 and 4. Both were found dead at the scene. Gainey was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.

A car containing three people was traveling northbound on 3800 East when they came to a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 30. The driver of the car then drove into the intersection, but was directly in the path of a westbound snowplow driven by Rodney Pooler, 58, and the two vehicles collided and slid off the northwestern corner of the intersection.

At about 1:15am, two deputies were in a police SUV when they were struck by a driver that failed to stop at a stop sign. The collision pushed their vehicle off of the road, and they were both injured along with a passenger in the other vehicle, but are expected to be okay. We will update this accident as more information is released.

Two men have been killed in a fiery single-vehicle car crash at 11:45 PM Friday in Seneca County on State Route 228. Christopher Meyer, 31, of Republic, was driving the car when he missed a curve, veered off the side of the road, struck a stop sign and several trees, flipped several times, and caught fire. Meyer was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the sedan, and pronounced dead at the site. His passenger, Antony Ryon, 26, of Tiffin also perished in the crash.
