A Pensacola teenager died Monday after suffering severe injuries in a car crash last week, a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Monteeaasia Hills, 17, was one of several people injured in a two-car collision at the intersection of N. W and W. Lloyd streets March 27, an FHP news release said.

While attempting to make a left turn, 25-year-old Shaundora Walker collided with an oncoming vehicle containing Hills and four other passengers, the release said.

A 17-year-old boy died Saturday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale after a car crash two days earlier in central Minnesota.

Charles Mellema, 17, of Randall, Minn., was less than a half mile away from his house when police say he collided with another car just before 11 p.m. Thursday, sending his car into a ditch and toppling a power line pole.

IMPD officers say the man who ran from the scene of a deadly crash Thursday evening was brought to Eskenazi Hospital by family members.

The crash happened at the intersection of 34th and Georgetown, on the northwest side of Indianapolis, just before 6 p.m.

Police say a white truck, driven by 33-year-old William Edwards, was heading northbound on Georgetown Road when it hit the victim’s vehicle heading west on 34th street. The collision caused the victim’s car to hit two other cars, whose occupants weren’t hurt.

Police say Edwards immediately ran from the scene.

A Lafayette man died after his car struck a tree Thursday evening, Alabama State Troopers announced Friday morning.

At 7:05p, Edwin Benton Yancey, 51, was killed when his 1992 Chevy 1500 pickup truck left Alabama 50 and hit a tree. The crash happened about five miles west of Lafayette.

Yancey was not wearing a seat belt, according to a Alabama State Trooper.

The crash remains under investigation.

A Charlotte, N.C. man is dead after a skiing accident at Colorado’s Keystone Ski Resort.

Sixty-year-old Lee Hurley died Thursday after hitting a tree on an intermediate run.

The Summit County coroner said Hurley was in Colorado on a ski vacation with his family.

Idaho State Police said an elderly couple was injured in a crash on US 12 Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said Claud Umphenour, 81 was going east on US 12 when he crossed the centerline. He continued across the westbound lane, drove off the shoulder and hit a pump house.

Officials said Claud and his passenger Maxine Umphenour, 78, were both transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital and then taken by life flight to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Lewiston.

Authorities said they were not wearing seatbelts.

Six people were injured, including a child who was ejected, in a rollover accident on Interstate 84 west of Meacham in northeast Oregon late Thursday.

Oregon State Police said that about 11:30 p.m., Beatriz Murillo, 38 of Salem, lost control of her 2003 Chevrolet Suburban on black ice while headed east on I-84. The vehicle rolled several times crossing through the median before coming to rest on the westbound shoulder.

An elderly man is dead after a car hit him Thursday morning in the Northwest Side Dunning neighborhood.

Nicholas Marx Jr., 85, was hit at 5:50 a.m. in the 4400 block of North Narragansett Avenue after he walked into the street in front of northbound traffic, authorities said.

He was taken to Presence Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:01 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The driver is not expected to be charged or cited for the crash, police said.

Authorities in eastern Idaho are investigating a collision between a passenger vehicle and a train south of Pocatello that injured a 21-year-old man.

Idaho State Police say Ryan Lish of Downey collided with the moving Union Pacific train at about 7 p.m. Thursday while driving a 1989 Honda Accord.

Police say the collision occurred at Blackrock Road and Old Highway 91.

Lish was transported to Portneuf Medical Center by ground ambulance.

A hospital spokeswoman on Friday said he was listed in critical condition.

Six people were injured, including two children, during a head-on collision in the Lake Los Angeles area.

The accident happened shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday when a white van collided with a silver Mercedes-Benz at 165th Street and Avenue S, California Highway Patrol officials said.

Two children and a man cut from the wreckage were airlifted to the hospital. Three other people suffered minor injuries, fire officials said.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
