Claud Umphenour, 81, Maxine Umphenour, 78, seriously injured, airlifted to hospital, after the car leaves the U.S. 12 roadway near Orofino, and crashes into a pump house.

Idaho State Police said an elderly couple was injured in a crash on US 12 Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said Claud Umphenour, 81 was going east on US 12 when he crossed the centerline. He continued across the westbound lane, drove off the shoulder and hit a pump house.

Officials said Claud and his passenger Maxine Umphenour, 78, were both transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital and then taken by life flight to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Lewiston.

Authorities said they were not wearing seatbelts.
