A 40-year-old Spokane woman has been killed in a rollover crash on Highway 211 about 12 miles north of Newport. Barbara Pierre died in the crash that sent the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am she was driving into a creek north of Davis Lake around 3 a.m. Friday, according to the Washington State Patrol. The vehicle had been headed south when the driver lost control. It rolled off the east side of the road into the creek. A passenger, 37-year-old Edward Scott of Battle Ground, was sent to Newport Hospital with injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, the WSP said.
A Marysville child was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after a one-car collision on Highway 530 near Darrington Saturday morning. The girl, 2, was listed in stable condition Saturday afternoon. A Marysville man, 27, also was injured. He was treated and released from Cascade Valley Hospital. The Washington State Patrol said the man was driving a Honda Civic eastbound when he rolled the car. It ran into a private driveway before landing in a ditch.
Two people were injured Sunday in Eatonville after a suspected drunken driver lost control and rolled his car several times. The accident happened about 6:45 a.m. in the 45880 block of northbound state Route 7. A 39-year-old Mineral man tried to pass a vehicle in a no-passing zone and rolled his Ford Escape. The car landed on the passenger side. The driver and his passenger, a 40-year-old Eatonville woman, were taken to Madigan Army Medical Center with unknown injuries. Alcohol, excessive speed and illegal passing caused the crash, troopers said.
