Lansing, MILoren Stein was cutting grass near his Winsor Township home when his mower slid down a steep embankment into a ditch filled with water. The mower rolled on top of Stein and trapped him in the ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Denver, COA 72-year-old man had apparently been driving erratically and likely sufferred a medical emergency as he was driving on Highway 34 in Loveland at about 3:00 p.m. A witness who was driving behind the man saw the man swerving across lanes before his car jumped the curb, went over the sidewalk, and into the lake. Fortunately for the elderly man, bystanders rushed straight into the cold water, and broke the car's window so that the man could be rescued. He was initially in cardiac arrest but is now breathing on his own.

New York, NYIt was about 1:00 p.m. when a 97-year-old woman drove into the water at the Bay Shore Marina, near the end of Clinton Avenue. Police responded to the scene to find her up to her neck in water within the vehicle, which had its windows up and doors locked. After breaking the window, a police officer and good Samaritan lifted the woman from the car, and she was hospitalized with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Thursday, April 2, 2015A body was discovered floating in a pond near a crashed car in the Country Meadows neighborhood on Pinto Drive near 76th Street and Kraft Avenue at around 7:30 a.m. Friday. The victim was identifies as Peter Reed. The Kent County Sheriff’s Department believes the accident happened sometime Thursday night. A medical issue may have been at play, but the crash is under investigation. We'll update this story with any new information we receive.

Las Vegas, NVA 78-year-old man is dead after his car fell into a lake after speeding through an intersection and crashing into a curb on Tuesday in Mesquite, Nevada. James Matthew McMurray Jr. was driving his 2004 Chevrolet Impala at approximately 12:49 PM Tuesday when the incident occured. He was driving north on Grapevine Road in Mesquite, about 81 miles northeast of Las Vegas. Police report that he sped through the intersection at Pioneer Boulevard, ignoring a traffic sign, and failed to make a right turn onto Pioneer.
