Philadelphia police are investigating an accident that sent at least one person to the hospital in the West Oak Lane section Tuesday.

Police say an out of control car careened into a building near 16th and Grange Streets just after 5:00 p.m.

The 59-year-old driver was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center as a trauma alert.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

A 25-year-old man was killed early Sunday in a two-car crash on I-95 in South Philadelphia that state police said was alcohol-related.

Around 2:55 a.m., a car driven south on I-95 near Broad Street by Gabriel Sanchez, 20, rear-ended one driven by Aaron Carbajal, 25, police said. Carbajal's car hit a barrier; Sanchez's car stopped in the middle lane.

Carbajal, of Philadelphia, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Sanchez's car was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Neither the passenger nor Sanchez had been wearing a seat belt, police said.

A SEPTA bus and car collided Monday morning on a Center City street.

The Route 27 bus and car were involved in an accident around 9:30 on 22nd Street, according to SEPTA.

The impact of the crash took down a traffic light at 22nd and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

It's unclear if anyone was injured in the accident or how many passengers were on the bus.

This is the second accident involving the transportation company since Friday. Twenty-two people were injured in the Chinatown crash.

Crews are responding to the scene of a SEPTA bus accident that resulted in several injuries in Center City Friday evening.

The accident occurred at 11th and Vine Streets.

According to SEPTA, the bus was traveling northbound on 11th street and was involved in an accident with another vehicle at the intersection. The opposing vehicle traveling westbound on Vine Street struck the side of the bus. The bus then made contact with three parked cars.

There were 20 people on board at the time of the accident.

Police have identified the driver who was killed after his vehicle crashed and burst into flames in Northeast Philadelphia late Monday night.

The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Eric Ferrell of 1500 block of Seller Street.

The accident happened around 11:15 p.m. on the 4600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard near Tower Drive.

According to police, Ferrell was travelling inside a 2011 Mazda at high rate of speed, lost control, hit the curb, and then struck a tree in the median
The car flipped onto its side and then burst into flames.

A security guard was injured when an alleged drunk driver crashed into a gate at the Naval Yard in South Philadelphia.

It happened around 7:30 Monday night.

Police say the 34-year-old driver was behind the wheel of a Mazda. The vehicle struck the front gate and the guard shack, injuring a security guard.

The 55-year-old security guard was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with neck, back and hip injuries.

The driver, who was not injured, has been arrested.

According to police, around 7:05 a.m. Monday morning crews responded to a car accident on I-676 Westbound near the Walt Whitman Bridge.

State troopers were forced to break the victim’s car window in order to get her out of the vehicle.

Authorities attempted CPR on the female and then transported her to Cooper Hospital where she was pronounced dead around 8:00 a.m.

Police have identified the victim as 58-year-old Kathleen Cockerill.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

It is unclear at this time what caused the accident.

Police say three people were injured when a driver lost control and crashed on Roosevelt Boulevard early Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 2:00 a.m. just past Adams Avenue in the city's Frankford section.

A driver traveling northbound in a Pontiac Bonneville lost control of a car.

The car ran off the road before striking a tree head on, police say.
Two men and a woman were rushed to Einstein Hospital. One man in the backseat was thrown into the windshield. He is listed in critical condition.

Philadelphia Police are investigating a hit and run accident that left a pedestrian seriously injured in North Philadelphia Tuesday. It happened at 21st Street and Susquehanna Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Police say a woman, believed to be in her late 40's, had just exited a SEPTA bus when she was struck by a white Chevy Impala at a high rate of speed. The impact sent the victim flying nearly 30 feet before she landed in the street. She was taken to Temple University Hospital with serious head injuries.

A man is fighting for his life after a car crash on Roosevelt Boulevard in the Hunting Park section of the city.

Officials say one car struck another in the southbound lanes of the Boulevard near 9th Street shortly after 4 a.m. The collision caused the second car to strike a tree and a guard rail.

The male driver was trapped for about 10 minutes until rescue crews arrived. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

The other driver was not hurt in the accident. Officials say charges are not expected.
