San Antonio, TXA man was driving a silver Honda convertible southbound in the 14800 block of Nacogdoches Road around 9:20 a.m. when he attempted to pass another vehicle. In doing so, he lost control and drifted into oncoming lanes, where his car was struck head-on by black Chrysler that was northbound on Nacogdoches. The man in the first car, 19-year-old Richie Tran, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler and two passengers were brought to San Antonio Military Medical Center with serious injuries.

San Antonio, TX18-year-old Corey Burris Byrnes, a backseat passenger, has died, and four others were injured after a crash on East Olmos Drive early Monday morning. The vehicle appeared to have lost control while coming off a curve causing it to jump the curb and strike a lightpole before slamming into a concrete bridge pillar that supports Highway 281. Three of the people in the car, including the driver, sustained critical injuries while one other passenger suffered minor injuries. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and the crash is still under investigation.

San Antonio, TXJocelyn Markham, 18, was killed and another was injured when a pickup plunged off a highway bridge on the North Side of San Antonio Thursday, falling 40 feet and landing on its roof in a creek. Around 1 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 281 near Basse Road, witnesses say the truck was rounding a curve when the driver appeared to lose control, veered left, then right just before it struck a concrete retaining wall, then flying off the overpass and into the creek below. It appears that Jocelyn Markham was driving, but the accident remains under investigation.

San Antonio, TXShawn Smith Verdin, 20, was killed while street racing on Loop 1604 and Braun Road in San Antonio, Texas. Police say the victim and another driver were racing in the southbound lanes of Loop 1604 at around 2 a.m. Friday, and as they approached the Braun Road intersection, both cars went around a large truck that was also traveling in the southbound lanes.
