A 45-year-old motorcyclist from Belmont identified as John Stark was killed in a crash in San Mateo Sunday afternoon on northbound U.S. Highway 101. The motorcyclist was heading northbound on a 2004 Suzuki when a 2006 Honda, also traveling northbound, hit the Suzuki. The motorcyclist lost control of the Suzuki and was ejected from the cycle. He was transported to Stanford Hospital and was pronounced deceased.
A Hayward motorcyclist is the victim of a hit-and-run collision with an SUV that caused him to fall dozens of feet to his death Thursday near the intersection of Highways 101 and Highway 92. The hit-and-run vehicle is described as a green Jeep or similar SUV. Larry Chris Pack was traveling south on Highway 10 at about 5:50 p.m. when the SUV changed lanes and collided with Pack's Harley-Davidson. That crash propelled the motorcycle into a side railing, and threw the rider off the overcrossing. He fell at least 80 feet to his death.
Crews on Highway 92 are working to clean a fuel spil that occured after a collision involving three vehicles. Authorities responded to an accident where five gallons of fuel have spilled and the condition of the drivers are not known at this time.
