Police have identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run crash in Stonington as 51-year-old Grover Moree, of the Pawcatuck section of Stonington. Moree was struck near Route 2 and Route 78 just after 5 a.m. Friday and was flown by LifeStar to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died, police said. Police said they are looking for a gray vehicle that fled the scene, heading north on Route 2. Authorities are following leads and continue to investigate.

Interstate 95 South is closed near exit 93 in North Stonington because of a crash involving a Department of Transportation vehicle. Crews were patching potholes on the highway when a minivan entered the work zone at a high rate of speed and crashed into one of the DOT trucks, according to a department spokesperson. At least 3 people were seriously injured, according to state police.

A 26-year-old Rhode Island woman has died after crashing into a school bus in Stonington, police said. It happened just before 7:30 a.m. Monday, police said. According to police, Sarah Delano of Westerly, R.I., was driving westbound on Pequot Trail in Stonington when her car crossed the center line and collided with a school bus driving in the opposite direction. Delano died at the scene. Police said no passengers were aboard the bus at the time of the crash. It’s not clear if the driver, 69-year-old Jane Toth of Pawcatuck, was injured.
