A tragic single-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 29 claimed the life of 31-year-old Austin K. Jordan of Opelika late Friday night. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the fatal crash occurred shortly before midnight approximately seven miles north of Opelika. Jordan's vehicle veered off the roadway before striking a tree, subsequently overturning and catching fire. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, Jordan was pronounced dead at the location.
