Randy Jenison was driving an 18-wheeler on Interstate 20 at around 11:30 p.m. when his vehicle ran off the road and hit several trees. Jenison died at the scene. The truck was carrying 6,500 gallons of engine oil, some of which spilled. The accident is still under investigation.

A 26-year-old man was driving a tractor trailer early in the morning on Lowcountry Highway when the truck left the roadway and drove through two residential yards, then struck several trees and overturned. The tractor-trailer was so damaged that it broke into two piece, and the fuel tanks spilled a large quantity of diesel. The driver, however, was able to escape the cab of the vehicle and was able to walk when emergency crews arrived.

At about 6:30pm, Thibeault was driving on Stafford Street when he veered into a nearby tree, which caused his car to immediately catch fire and made it virtually impossible for bystanders to get near the vehicle to rescue him. He died from smoke inhalation before any help could get to him and was thus pronounced dead at the scene as soon as the fires were extinguished.

Tovar was traveling westbound on Highway 40 when he veered into the eastbound lane and struck a semi-truck driven by Jeffrey Higgs, 47. The collision caused Tovar's pickup truck to drift back over the westbound lane and into the shoulder, while the semi-truck veered off the opposite side of the highway. Tovar was pronounced dead at the scene, while Higgs was hospitalized with minor injuries.

At around 12:10pm, two vehicles struck each other and both went off of the road. The smaller vehicle crashed into a utility pole, while the larger vehicle crashed into propane tanks and then into a house. Two people from each vehicle were injured, though injuries were mostly minor. The crash into the propane tanks caused leakage and five nearby homes had to be evacuated.
