A 33-year-old man lost control of his car along Intestate 94 in Maple Grove, hit a utility equipment building and was killed, authorities said.
The crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday on eastbound I-94 near Maple Grove Parkway, according to the State Patrol.
Killed was Andrew Hou, of Edina, the patrol said.
He was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol use does not appear to be a factor, the patrol added.
The patrol did note that the driving surface was wet at the time.
One person is dead and one person sustained serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred Thursday night, April 24th on I-94 near WIS 142 in Kenosha County. I-94 is under construction in this area.
According to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, a minivan struck the back of a semi stopped in traffic on I-94 around 10:45 p.m.
The 34-year-old male driver of the minivan, later identified as Bram Dorresteijn, sustained severe head injuries. He was transported by Flight for Life to Froedtert Medical Center. His condition remains critical.
The Rogers Police Department has identified the woman who crashed into a lake in Rogers on Monday afternoon as Karen Torgerson.
According to Rogers police, Torgerson was driving on Interstate 94 eastbound near a waste management company, VEIT USA, at 4:10 p.m. when she crashed into the lake.
Cody Shirley was in the area when he saw the car crash. Police say he went into the lake to help rescue Torgerson.
Torgerson was taken to the hospital, but was expected to be OK.
First responders were unable to resuscitate the victim of a rollover crash on Interstate 94 between Billings and Huntley Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred at about 1:30 p.m.
A Help Flight helicopter was dispatched to the scene, but was waved off when officials determined that the victim had died, said a Montana Highway Patrol Trooper.
The 38-year-old female driver from Ballantine, headed westbound toward Billings at the time of the incident, was the only person in the vehicle.
One person was killed Wednesday afternoon after his pickup truck rolled over off I-94 near Hartford. Michigan State Police Troopers arrived at the scene on eastbound I-94 near mile marker 48 in Hartford Township around 3 p.m. and the truck. The driver had been ejected, according to a MSP release. The driver, who has been identified as 42-year-old Frederick Neil Alburtus from Lawrence, was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses told police that Alburtus was driving erratically before the rollover.
Alcohol may have been a factor in a rollover crash that closed three lanes of westbound Interstate 94 in Minneapolis Saturday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash happened near Cedar Ave. S. around 9 a.m. when a 2009 Dodge Neon, going westbound in the second to the left lane, lost control as the driver decided to exit at Cedar Ave., according to the state patrol. The car went up into the embankment and rolled, coming to a rest on its roof outside of the guardrail on the right side of the freeway.
A section of I-94 is shut down in both directions in Van Buren County due to pileup involving semi-trucks. The closure, which includes the eastbound and westbound lanes, is located between mile marker 52 and mile marker 60, which is the Paw Paw exit. Six people were injured in the pileup, which occurred on I-94′s eastbound lanes, according to Van Buren County Central Dispatch. As many as 10 vehicles, in addition to the semi-trucks, are involved.
Authorities report several multi-vehicle crashes during snowfall along I-94 in the Jackson area, including some where motorists are injured. A Jackson County sheriff's Sgt. says several police and fire agencies are responding to crashes Wednesday morning. He says there's no immediate word about the severity of any of the injuries or the number of vehicles involved.
