Wednesday, December 4, 2013The Sutter County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of an Elk Grove man who was killed Thursday when his car hit a pickup truck parked in the road south of Yuba City after an earlier crash.
He was identified Friday as 37-year-old Brian E. Ganub.
The California Highway Patrol reported that at about 5:15 a.m. Thursday two vehicles were involved in a non-injury collision on northbound Highway 99 south of Oswald Road. The two vehicles remained in the road, partially blocking the left turn lane and the fast lane of Highway 99.

Seattle-Tacoma, WATwo people were hurt Tuesday afternoon when a Community Transit bus struck a sport utility vehicle on Highway 99 in Lynnwood. The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m., Lynnwood police said. The southbound SUV was making a left turn in the 20400 block of the highway, Community Transit spokesman said. "The (northbound) bus couldn't stop in time and hit the car and knocked it on its side," he said. The SUV driver was taken to a Seattle hospital and was expected to survive, Wellington said. Twenty people were on the bus at the time.
