Orange County, CASpeed and weather appeared to play a role in a crash that left five teenage girls injured -- two of them critically-- in Orange County late Saturday, officials said. Authorities responded just before 11 p.m. when a 2006 Mercury C230 hit a curb, went up an embankment and struck a tree on Melinda Road in Rancho Santa Margarita, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Orange County Fire Authority. Preliminary investigation shows that slick weather and high speed may have contributed to the crash, officials said.

Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLThree people were injured in a Dunedin crash Friday that closed part a major road for six hours.
Two of the crash victims suffered life-threatening injuries, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators say the crash happened at about 11:43 a.m. at the intersection of Belcher and Highland Woods Drive, which is just south of Curlew Road.

Indianapolis, INOne person was critically injured, two others seriously hurt in a head-on crash in Greenfield late Wednesday.
The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. in the area of State Road 9 and Chapman Drive.
Two passenger vehicles were involved in the crash.
The first vehicle was driven by 26-year-old Jeffery M. Franklin of Greenfield.
The second car was driven by 18-year-old Dillon Woods from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Woods had a passenger with him identified as 21-year-old Christopher J Ryan from Greenfield.
Investigators say Franklin was heading north on State Road 9 at the time of the crash.

Nashville, TNFamilies and friends are mourning the loss of four Warren County High School seniors killed in a fiery car crash overnight Saturday on Viola Road.
They are grappling with the burdensome question: How do you say goodbye to sons, a daughter, siblings, friends - all teenagers gone too soon.
Kaimen Collins 17, Dominique Pinegar, Christopher Frazier and Shanna Seiderer were out playing tag. All four died in the crash that occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

Thursday, November 28, 2013A 16-year-old is in trouble with the law after Upper Allen Township police in Cumberland County say the teen fled the scene of a crash and was driving under the influence.
Police responded to a hit-and-run crash around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday along the 1700 block of North Meadow Drive.
"The striking vehicle fled the scene and was located by police several blocks away. The 16 year old juvenile driver admitted to having been driving at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle to strike a curb which caused property damage and disabling damage to the vehicle," a police news release states.

Wednesday, November 27, 2013A Mechanicsburg teenager was arrested Thursday night after police in Upper Allen Township said the 16-year-old was found driving under the influence of drugs in a hit-and-run crash.
The incident occurred around 8:25 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Meadow Drive. A BMW Sedan, which was located by police several blocks away, struck a curb and caused property damage in the area of the crash. The sedan also sustained disabling damage in the incident.

Indianapolis, INA Center Grove High School student died as a result of a car accident Tuesday night in Johnson County, school authorities said, and two others, a current student and former student, were injured.
A one-vehicle crash happened along Ind. 135, south of Meridian Parke Drive, according to the Greenwood Police Investigations Commander. He declined to provide information about the individuals involved, saying the crash remains under investigation.

Jacksonville, FLA Baldwin Middle-Senior High School student is on life support after a crash near the Florida-Georgia border Monday.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, 17-year-old Richard Baer was on a hunting trip with three friends in Charlton County, Ga., when their car drove off Stokes Road and hit a tree.
Baer was taken to UF Health Jacksonville.
Troopers said Baer and his friends were near St. George, Ga., when the car they were riding in moved off the shoulder of the road and hit a tree.

Washington, DCSeven people were injured -- two of those suffering life-threatening injuries -- in a three-car crash on Branch Avenue at Allentown Road in Prince George's County Saturday night.
Most of the injured appeared to be in their teens or early 20s, a fire department spokesman tweeted. One victim was middle-aged.
Southbound Branch Avenue was closed during the rescue efforts, which included flying three of the injured to trauma centers. Many of the injured appeared to have been ejected from their vehicles.
There was no immediate information about the cause of the accident.

Seattle-Tacoma, WAZack Davis, 18 years old, passed away Monday night. He was involved in a 6 car accident on the interchange between Highway 16 and I-5. The road was icy at the time.
