Jeffery M. Franklin, 26, Dillon Woods, 18, and Christopher J Ryan, 21, injured in head-on crash on State Road 9 and Chapman Drive in Greenfield, Indiana

One person was critically injured, two others seriously hurt in a head-on crash in Greenfield late Wednesday. The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. in the area of State Road 9 and Chapman Drive. Two passenger vehicles were involved in the crash. The first vehicle was driven by 26-year-old Jeffery M. Franklin of Greenfield. The second car was driven by 18-year-old Dillon Woods from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Woods had a passenger with him identified as 21-year-old Christopher J Ryan from Greenfield. Investigators say Franklin was heading north on State Road 9 at the time of the crash. Woods and Ryan were headed southbound. Police say they found a clear baggy of what appeared to be marijuana by the front seat of Jeffery Franklin's car. According to police, the use of marijuana could be a contributing factor to the crash. All three were taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Franklin was listed in critical condition. Ryan and Woods were listed in serious condition. The crash closed State Road 9 for about three hours and remains under investigation.
