Man dies after 6-car pile-up on icy Tacoma road

Despite the foggy, icy conditions early Sunday morning, investigators said speed caused the death of an 18-year-old on Highway 16.

Zack Davis, 18 years old, passed away Monday night. He was involved in a 6 car accident on the interchange between Highway 16 and I-5. The road was icy at the time. Mr. Davis's car was rear-ended while he was still in his car. The driver of that car will be cited. What money damages are recoverable in a death claim? Every death from an accident is tragic. When a death is the result of someone else’s negligence, certain survivors may make a wrongful death claim against those responsible. Close relatives may recover monetary damages for the loss of financial support, as well as for medical, funeral, and burial expenses, lost earnings, and in some cases for pain, suffering, and loss of love and affection. Learn more about wrongful death claims here
