Lisa Borsellino, 61, died Tuesday night after being hit by a car while crossing South River Street in Hackensack, New Jersey. The driver, a 17-year-old from Springfield, had a green light at the time of the accident, which occured around 8:30 p.m. Borsellino, who was walking to the Hackensack homeless shelter, crossed against the light and without the safety of a crosswalk, which police believe contributed to the accident. Borsellino was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she died. Charges were not filed against the driver.

A 40-year-old borough resident and his dog were struck by a car near the intersection of Anderson and Aurora avenues on Sunday afternoon. The driver, Yap W. Moon, a 68-year-old resident of Fort Lee, was issued summons on Sunday evening for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, careless driving and reckless driving. The borough resident was taken to Englewood Hospital & Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries and his dog is expected to make a full recovery.

A man was hit by a New Jersey Transit bus Monday night while crossing the intersection of Oak and Franklin Avenue. The man was trapped under the vehicle until rescue teams pulled him free. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center to treat leg and ankle injuries.
