Homeless woman struck by car, killed while crossing to Hackensack shelter

She was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later, he said. No charges or summonses have been filed against the driver.
Lisa Borsellino, 61, died Tuesday night after being hit by a car while crossing South River Street in Hackensack, New Jersey. The driver, a 17-year-old from Springfield, had a green light at the time of the accident, which occured around 8:30 p.m. Borsellino, who was walking to the Hackensack homeless shelter, crossed against the light and without the safety of a crosswalk, which police believe contributed to the accident. Borsellino was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she died. Charges were not filed against the driver.
