A woman was stopped on the side of northbound I-5 at milepost 102, because her car was apparently disabled. A semi traveling at about 58 mph left the road and rear-ended the vehicle, and the woman was killed in the crash. No names have been released. Shortly after 3:00pm, a car driven by a 94-year-old man rear-ended a Ford sedan and then spun into a Chevrolet. The 94-year-old man was killed, and his 86-year-old wife was injured but is stable. Neither of the other drivers were seriously hurt.

Washington State Patrol says speed and intoxicants were factors in a crash on Interstate 5 Sunday night in Vancouver. Kevin W. Smith, 52, of Kelso was reportedly driving south on Interstate 5 about 6 p.m. in a 2002 Chrysler Sebring when he rear-ended a Honda Accord near Northeast 134th Street, according to state patrol. A juvenile passenger in the Accord was injured and transported to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center. The passenger’s name was not released and her condition is unknown. Smith was also injured and taken to Legacy Salmon Creek.

A woman and her small daughter died Tuesday when their SUV smashed into the back of a grocery store delivery truck on north Interstate 5 south of the Orange County line. Many drivers who witnessed the crash or saw the wreckage right after were distraught, one woman posted on Twitter. Northbound traffic was halted for nearly an hour. Even after two lanes opened, the backup worsened and extended as far south as Oceanside Boulevard.
