A 4-year-old Kentucky girl died and several others injured Thursday in a crash in Braxton County. The girl was one of seven people riding south in an 2003 GMC Envoy SUV on Interstate 79 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it rolled multiple times in the median. Authorities suspect the driver may have fallen asleep. The accident happened around 6 a.m. Thursday. WKYT-TV in Kentucky reported that the girl was 4-year-old Katy Clifton of Paris, Kentucky.

Katlynn Elizabeth Ruiz, 4, was riding with her mother, two siblings, and a few others on Interstate 79 when their SUV hit the median and rolled multiple times. The driver, the young girl's mother, sustained a spinal injury .Katlynn was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The family's only vehicle was destroyed in the crash leaving the father with no way to get to his family, so a coworker gave him money for a new vehicle.

The driver was conscious and talking when found at the scene, and was taken to CAMC General Hospital. The truck contained 4500 of Condensate, which is potentially flammable, and began to leak after the crash. Crews are currently cleaning up the leakage.
