Lawrence Messina, communications director for the state Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety, said the driver was apparently on the way to a funeral.

A 4-year-old Kentucky girl died and several others injured Thursday in a crash in Braxton County. The girl was one of seven people riding south in an 2003 GMC Envoy SUV on Interstate 79 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it rolled multiple times in the median. Authorities suspect the driver may have fallen asleep. The accident happened around 6 a.m. Thursday. WKYT-TV in Kentucky reported that the girl was 4-year-old Katy Clifton of Paris, Kentucky.
