14-year-old Lily Rhodes was riding on ATV with three friends at a birthday party when something, possibly a hole in the terrain, caused the vehicle to flip and eject all occupants. Of those involved, Rhodes sustained the worst injuries and had to have most of her arm amputated, though she should make a good recovery otherwise. One other girl on the ATV also had some serious injuries, and remains in the hospital with a broken vertebrae. What personal injury victims need to know:

The 17-year-old boy was driving at a high rate of speed southbound on Route 340 at about 2:25 a.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his car, struck a sign, overturned into an embankment, and was ejected from the car. According to Virginia State Police, the boy was was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. We'll update this post as new details emerge.
