Just before 11 p.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of State Road 429 near State Road 414, a Ford Expedition carrying three teens left the roadway and rolled several times, ejecting 16-year-old Jasmine Tena. She was the struck by a vehicle that left the scene. The driver of the Expedition, Teodora Llanas, Jr., 19, and another passenger, Demetrio Rangel, 19, both of Apopka, were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Both are expected to survive.
The 17-year-old boy was driving at a high rate of speed southbound on Route 340 at about 2:25 a.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his car, struck a sign, overturned into an embankment, and was ejected from the car. According to Virginia State Police, the boy was was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. We'll update this post as new details emerge.
