Pickens County School's superintendent Jamie Chapman announced the loss of veteran bus driver, Sharon Hood, on the their Facebook page. Hood was driving the bus when it collided with an SUV near Ethelsville, west of Reform, Alabama on Friday. The bus then crashed into a tree. There were 14 students on board, from Reform Elementary School and Pickens County High School. All who were involved in the crash suffer from minor to severe injuries.

At around 9 a.m. a school bus rear-ended a jeep on Prospect Street near Maple Street. There were seven children onboard the bus between the ages of 7 and 8. All seven of the students were taken to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford as a precaution, though none of them had any apparant injuries. A person in the jeep was hospitalized with minor facial injuires. The bus driver was taken to Hartford Hospital as a precaution. The road was closed for several hours following the accident.

Several students had complaints about minor injuries sustained in the crash, but after all were evaluated by EMS, it was determined that none needed further treatment. Seidel, the bus driver, will be cited for careless driving, according to police.

Idaho state police say one child was injured in a school bus crash around the Idaho County town of Riggins. The one-vehicle crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. Thursday on a road in the area, located about 125 miles south of Coeur d'Alene. Police say 66-year-old driver Larry C. Barnard was carrying seven children on his bus when he was distracted by one of them. The vehicle drifted left and as the driver corrected to the right, tires went off the road and the bus eventually rolled on its right side.
