The westbound lanes of Interstate 80-94 were shut down on Wednesday when a semi slid off the road.

The accident happened near Ripley street in Lake Station.

State Police have been warning that roads are slick after about seven inches of snow fell across Northwest Indiana overnight.

All westbound lanes were blocked.

Camera images from the area showed portions of the road were snow-covered.

A 17-year-old boy was suffering life-threatening injuries after a car crashed into a tree on icy roads in Redland Tuesday night, police said. Three people were in the car when it crashed at 15800 Redland Road just before 5:30 p.m., according to a spokesman for the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. The teen was taken to Oregon Health & Sciences University in a helicopter. Another person was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Officials were called to York Township just west of Milan for a crash involving a train and a vehicle around 2 p.m., police confirmed. A man driving a truck on East Arkona Road east of Platt tried stopping at the crossing gates for the freight train coming by but couldn't because of icy road conditions, said a spokesman for the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office The truck collided with the side of the moving train. The man driving the truck suffered minor injuries, police said.

There were multiple accidents along Lamar Avenue in Memphis due to icy road conditions. At least one person was thrown from a vehicle and rushed to the hospital.

Reports are that a car has overturned at Lamar Avenue at Winchester Road. There is another accident on Lamar Avenue at East Holmes Road.

A third accident has been reported at Old Lamar Avenue at Perkins Road that involves at least six vehicles. Witnesses on the scene said that it appears the vehicles hit patches of ice and wrecked.

The Ohio County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the man killed after his car collided with a snow plow in Ohio County. According to the Sheriff's Office, just before six Sunday night dispatchers received a call about a two vehicle accident involving a KYTC snow plow and a black Honda at the intersection of US 231 south and Lee Drive in Cromwell.

Police said a drunk driver who crashed into another car and then drove away, resisted arrest in her driveway, slipped out of her handcuffs inside a squad car and then began screaming and kicking several officers. According to the affidavit for probable cause, on February 1, witnesses called 911 and said they saw Angela Kisler, 47, of Fort Wayne, hit a green Jeep near Trier and Lahmeyer Roads and then continue driving. They told police they believed Kisler was drunk. The witnesses followed Kisler to a home in the 7800-block of Willowwood Drive, near the Arlington Park area.

A sport-utility vehicle carrying six women lost control on an icy western Michigan roadway and spun into the path of a pickup truck early Friday, causing a crash that killed four and injured five, authorities said. The women killed were later identified as Jessica Magana 22, Angelica Magana-Ceja 44, Erika Ceja 34, and Teresa Alvarez 34. The Muskegon County Sheriff's Office said in a release that the four who died in the crash shortly after 6 a.m. in Muskegon County's Casnovia Township were in the SUV. Two others in the vehicle were hurt, as were three men in the pickup truck.

An Alabama Department of Corrections employee was one of the people killed in traffic accidents on icy roads this week.

Corrections Officer Desi Arnez Patterson, 43, was killed Thursday in a wreck on U.S. Highway 82 in southern Chilton County.

Patterson was on his way from his home in Montgomery to work at the Bibb County Correctional Facility in Brent, according to a news release from ADOC spokesman Brian Corbett. He started at the Department of Corrections in August of 1998.

A Montgomery man was killed Thursday when his vehicle left an icy roadway in southern Chilton County and hit a tree, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Desi Patterson, 43, was killed in the single-vehicle wreck on U.S. 82 about four miles west of Billingsley around 5 a.m., according to Alabama State Troopers spokesman Sgt. Steve Jarrett.

The road was icy and Patterson was not wearing a seat belt during the crash, Jarrett said.

Troopers continue to investigate.

A van rollover closed Bethany Mountain Road in Cheshire Thursday morning. The road, also known as Route 42, was closed from Inverness Road in Cheshire to Candy Lane in Prospect, according to police. The van's driver had to be extricated, but suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said. It's the second accident police responded to in the same area on Thursday morning. Water runoff from a hill froze on the road, creating a slick condition, according to police. State Department of Transportation crews were called to treat the road.
